Homeschool Greenhouse Class – Bloom, Grow, Blossom!!!

Tuttle Orchards is offering a fun learning opportunity for homeschool students and their parents to explore how plants grow.  This experience lasts approximately 45-60 minutes and is designed for children 5 to 10, but children 2 to 13 years old are welcome to attend with a paid ticket.

Experience includes:

  • Observation and discussion about seeds, roots, stems, leaves, and flowers.
  • Student participation in a skit to learn about photosynthesis.
  • Tour of the greenhouse to learn about the growing tables and see how plants are transplanted.
  • Talk about how things grow in a hands-on environment.
  • Hands on planting activity with a plant to take home.

March 7 at 10:30am

Tickets:

$10.00 - For 1 Child (ages 2 to 13) PLUS 1 Adult.  Includes the lesson, greenhouse tour, and a hands-on planting activity for the child.  Adults may help their child with the planting activity, but they will not get their own plant.  

$10.00 - For 1 Additional Child (ages 2 to 13).   Includes the lesson, greenhouse tour, and a hands-on planting activity for the child.  

$4.00 - Additional Spectator Ticket (ages 14 and up).  All additional spectators MUST purchase a $4.00 ticket to attend this event.  Adults may help their child with the planting activity, but they will not get their own plant.   

Kids 1 & under - Free (with a paid sibling) if they don’t plan to participate in the activity.  They will need to sit on an adult's lap or in a stroller as seating may be limited.  Some choose to purchase tickets for their 12-23 month old kids who want to participate in the planting activity.  Parents can choose based on their child’s needs.

Location:

Please park in the large parking area in the west side of the street. Please go across the street to the Shed to check-in for this event. The Shed is located on the east side of the street behind the Cafe and Greenhouse in a white building. Please look for signs to help direct you to the Shed.

Refunds:

This event will be held rain or shine. This is a non-refundable event.

Additional Information:

Classes that do not meet the minimum requirements of 15 registered participants within 2 weeks of the reservation will be cancelled or your group can opt to pay the $150 minimum class fee.

The FarmYard (the activities and play area) is not open in March and April except during our Easter event.

If you wish to purchase food at the farm, then the Cafe and Farm Store are open for individual families or very small groups wishing to purchase snacks and/or meals. Please keep in mind that there is an extremely limited seating area inside for eating. For everyone's enjoyment and safety, we ask that children stay seated and keep their voices low while dining inside.  We also have black tables and chairs located outside under the pergola for those purchasing food from the Cafe or Farm Store.  Please no outside food in this area.
