Basket and Planter Elements of Design Workshop

Great hanging baskets and planters don’t happen by accident—they’re designed! In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn the key elements of container design and how they work together to create a balanced, eye-catching planter or hanging basket.

Participants will choose from a set of pre-selected plant combinations, making it easy to follow a proven design framework. With guidance from our instructors, you’ll place plant plugs using professional design principles to “launch” your planter or hanging basket into a beautiful, finished design. Our expect growers will then take care of your plants in our greenhouse to help them grow into big and beautiful hanging baskets or planters. You will pick up your hanging basket(s) or planter(s) sometime in between April 27th and May 9th when they are ready to be outside.

No experience is needed. This workshop is perfect for beginners and seasoned gardeners alike.

All materials are provided—just bring your creativity and have fun growing something beautiful!

If you choose to plant a hanging basket, then the cost for the class and hanging basket is $54.99 (includes all materials for one basket, care for it until May, and instruction). You can choose to plant more than one hanging basket for an additional cost of $44.99 each.

If you choose to plant a planter, then the cost for the class and the planter is $69.99 (includes all materials for one planter, care for it until May, and instruction). You can choose to plant more than one planter for an additional cost of $59.99 each.

Please note: you MUST be able to pick up your planter between April 27th and May 9th between 9am-6pm. (We are closed on Sundays.) Tuttle’s is not responsible for any baskets that are not picked by Friday, May 9th.

Date and Times:

The classes will be held on Saturday, March 14 at 9:00am, 10:00am, 11:00am, 1:00pm, & 2:00pm. 

Tickets: (Everyone that attends must purchase a ticket.)

$54.99/person for a hanging basket and the class. 

$44.99 for each additional hanging basket.

OR

$69.99/person for a planter and the class.

$59.99 for each additional planter (during the class).

Class Location:

The classes will be held in the greenhouse.

Additional Information:

Everyone that attends MUST purchase a ticket in advance.

This class is geared towards adults, so children should not attend this class. Children who are interested in gardening should sign up for the Spring Greenhouse Class instead.
