Vegetable Gardening Workshop – 201
(This is a 201 gardening workshop, which is for people who have had a garden before, but want to dig deeper.)
Are you ready to plant a vegetable garden?
If you are wondering about specific plants, wanting to know what type of seeds are best, trying to figure out what fertilizers and soil to use, want to get started vegetable gardening, then this is the time for you!
Join Mike, our resident grower, for a 1-hour class on vegetable gardening. He has a BS in Horticulture from Purdue University and has been a co-owner of Tuttle Orchards since 1982. Since becoming a co-owner, Mike has greatly expanded the vegetable production at Tuttle Orchards and is offering his wisdom during this workshop.
This workshop will cover the following topics:
- Garden site selection
- Soil preparation
- Seed/plant selection
- Timing of seeding/planting
- Transplanting
- Crop Rotation
- Question and Answer Period
Date: April 6 and 20 at 11:00am
Location: Tuttle Orchards – The Greenhouse
Cost: $10 per person. (We must have a minimum of 10 participants for this class or it may be canceled.)
